Bakers Rack Repurposed into a Bird Condo

I married a bakers rack with a couple of bird cages today to make a bird condo.    I enjoy making something new out of old stuff!!       The new "piece" is a lovely addition to a small corner on the back porch.

I wired a couple of bird cages to my bakers rack to make my condo.

I had an old bench that had seen better days and couldn't be sat on until it gets all new boards.    I sat a round bird bath on the bench and filled my cherub bird feeder with bird no one can sit on until it is repaired!

The birds are already starting to flock to the condo/bird bath/ bird feeder......

I added some fresh cut blossoms to the bird bath.....

I don't want my birds to blow off when there's a breeze,  so I tied their little feet to the cage with some fabric strips.....

H and I are having dinner tonight on the back porch........I'll take some photo's and be back soon!

  4. Penny, you have the best ideas! I love your bird condo! It's very creative and I bet the birdies love it too. Thank you for sharing.

  5. I love your display! And I love the turquoise bowls in header photo.

  6. Dear Penny:
Now that was clever. More space for more birds! I know you have fun doing these projects. Thanks for sharing and linking.

  7. So fun! Thanks for sharing at Dishing It & Digging It!

  8. Your bird condo is a wonderful idea ! I actually have an old baker's rack and some old bird cages just like yours. I also have some real birds needing a bigger cage, so I think I'll be copying this idea for them.

  9. What a sweet bird condo! I'm sure your little birdies are very happy with home!! ;-) Your garden is gorgeous!

It makes my day to hear from my friends!
