Outdoor Great Room

I wanted to take our porch to the next level.....an outdoor great room!

The first level was to add windows.....

We added lighting.....

I plan to add addition lighting later this summer,  but for now,   I repurposed a vintage oil lamp to serve as a chandy over the farm style  table.

I decorated my "walls" just like I do in the inside of the house.....

I found some pretty iron pieces at HL to hang the windows from......

The farm table will easily seat 10-12,   but when it is just H and I this is how I set the table.

I have set the table with pink chargers,   pretty floral plates,  metal salad plates......

I like to use large coffee cups to serve soup!

I haven't decided if I should add windows to each end of the porch....we'll see!

Maybe two square windows in the corner.....

Looking thru the window you can see where H and I sit to have our morning coffee.....

Live Simply........

Our outdoor great room,   has a dining big area and several small seating areas     The photo before this one showed our coffee area.    If you look at the far left of this photo you can see another seating area....

A vintage metal glider is a perfect place to sit and read or have a glass of wine.     I am playing with the idea of adding lights to the umbrella.
Speaking of the umbrella,    If you follow my blog you know I normally do a post showing my yard sale treasures each week.    I didn't have time this week,  sorry.....but this umbrella is one of my finds Saturday.    $20 and it has a granite base for a stand.

I added a yard sale find that you haven't seen before.   I bought a black fireplace screen a couple of weeks ago.    I tried and tried to get a good photo of it.

I finally just moved it to the side of the faux fireplace.

$9 at a yard sale and it's hand painted ....can't beat that price.

I love our new outdoor great room!

  19. Penny,
Very pretty!! You must not have a lot of wind there. Everything would be blowing all over the place here. Where I live was once called Windy Hill about 50 years ago, I am told!! LOL!!
