Front Porch Spring Mantel

We couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous spring day Sunday to celebrate Easter.     There were 10 of us for dinner and we spent a fun afternoon hiding eggs in the yard...several times!     Kyleigh hid them a couple of times for the adults to find...lol!

I created a spring Easter mantle with fresh cut flowers from the yard.....

I filled ironstone pitchers with stems of snow balls to create a simple mantel for the porch.....

And added a pair of concrete birds......

To complete my snow white spring mantel............

There are several large snow ball bushes in the back yard.....

that are in  full bloom....

I took time this morning to relax a while on the porch after a busy Easter day....

I just sat in the sun ..............

and enjoyed a cup of tea.....

I found a single white iris in bloom this morning and wanted to make a small floral design for my tray.....

I filled in around the iris with some fresh cut boxwood and a couple of small stems of photinia that I found.

The two  wicker planters that I bought at the auction a few weeks ago found a home on each side of the faux fireplace.    I plan to plant them with live flowers later,  but for now I made a nest for my rooster with some faux greenery.

Several of you have mentioned that my posts have not been as frequent as usual and asked if I was ok.    The truth is..... I haven't been feeling well for about a month.    I hope  my doctor will have  my health issues under control soon      Thank you all so much for your concern.....hope to be back to my normal in a couple of weeks.

  3. Penny, I adore your beautiful porch. I love the white pitchers and snowball flowers. I am glad you enjoyed your Easter so did I. I laughed about your family hiding the eggs more than once. Oh my gosh we used to do that till those hard boiled eggs were all cracked. Thanks for making me smile. Blessings to you, xoxo, Susie

  7. Penny,
Love those white pitchers with the snowballs in them!! Simply stunning!! Looks like it was a beautiful day there for Easter. We had temps. close to 80 which is a rarity for Easter in these parts!! It is back down into the 60's which is normal for this time of year. I am still dealing with BP issues and regulating my BP meds. I hope you can get your health issues straightened out soon and are feeling better...
    Hugs,
    Deb

  12. I just love your wall of windows and the mantel in front of them. The snowballs in the pitchers was the crowning touch!
Does your mantel stay outside all year? I love the look and was wondering about how well it survives the weather.

    1. Hi Nikki, the mantle stays out year round. I've had good luck with leaving wood items out year round. I just paint them with a good quality outdoor paint and they last just like your house trim with regular touch ups every few years. hugs...
