New Wall Art in the Family Room

If you follow my blog,    you  know that H and I have been busy in the studio cleaning,  purging,  and organizing.

In the process of all the cleaning etc.    I have found things I hadn't seen in years!      One of the things that got pushed back out of sight is a cow picture that I've had for years.

It was like finding an old friend!

I looked thru my blog posts to see when the last time I had used my cow picture was.     It was back in 2013 and I had her hanging in the kitchen on the Hoosier.

H pulled her out of retirement and gave her blue window frame  a fresh coat of white paint.

I couldn't hardly wait for the paint to dry so I could hang her over the sofa in the family room.

She's pretty on her own,   but I wanted to put something on each side of  her.

I picked out matching tobacco baskets to put on each side........

Then I hung a cow print on each basket.

I've had these cow prints for a long long time,  but had quit using them because of the red and cream checked frame     A quick dry brush over the frames and  they fit in perfect with my decor.

The tobacco baskets also got a make over.......

Before........................................................After

I also tied some white fabric rags across the bottom of the tobacco baskets to 'SHABBY"  them up a bit.....lol!

I have a touch of Valentine decor on the end table by the sofa.

I love Kim Anderson art........

I also have a few of her figurines.

A full view of the family room........

My Valentine mantel and a link to that post in case you missed it..........http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2019/01/roosters-on-my-valentine-mantel.html

I have a floral design on the other end table and a small wooden sign that says "I'll love you til the cows come home"

I always enjoy your visits so much,    please stop by again soon!

  2. Penny, I love your "Fresh Milk" cow picture and the pink tobacco baskets. This is so sweet and tender. Thanks for sharing. I needed this as we had snow yesterday and it is only zero here this morning even though the sun is out. I have to remind myself I don't live in Miami so it's not supposed to be warm in February. It is 25 degrees in Alaska this morning.
Stay warm and keep up the great work. PS I love the pink rose pillow on your couch and the crochet work on the back of the couch.

  8. Everything turned out lovely. Seems the white paint really perks the cow picture up and makes it fit in your room.

  11. Penny,
Love your "newly' found Cow picture... And I love that you painted the tobacco baskets pink and shabbied them up a bit by adding fabric rag ties to them.. I have not been by for a bit because I have had a lot going on health wise but I will be playing catch up this morning...
    Hugs,
    Deb
