I always think of Memorial week end as the beginning of Summer. Our family has plans to go to the lake and have fun camping and riding the jet ski's |
I like to do a Patriotic mantel in the family room right before Memorial day that I can leave up til after Labor day. |
I don't decorate as heavy during the summer......that gives me less time cleaning and more time to spend outside. |
Let's take a tour of the summer mantel..... |
I added some Patriotic touches to the existing decor on each side of the fireplace...... |
Do you notice a difference in the backdrop from last year? I muted the color of the barn doors by flipping the drape over to the backside. |
What is that green blob you can see in the sun room ,,,,,,you ask |
It's an ivy plant that has taken over the coffee table.....gotta find a new home for it! |
I think I need to hang that ivy plant somewhere on the back porch...... |
I always enjoy your visits so much, please come back again soon! |

I just love your decor! Where do you find all of the cute banners and artwork ("Vintage Farm Girl", etc.)? Did you make the cute little barn on the mantel? I would love to see more about where you shop or how you make things. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSince I am chairbound for at least a month and far/away from my supplies, I might have to do a summer banner with the Grand. Penny, you share so many cute ideas here---I might try some /modge-podge transfers! Maybe all the flowers I won't get planted this season...grins!
ReplyDeleteJust precious!! I have four sons and could never decorate so feminine, but the girly girl in me loves this!!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteYour mantle look lovely and very Summer- like....Have a lovely Memorial Day mini vacation with your family.....I am not sure when we will be celebrating as my youngest son and daughter-in-law will be coming home from their vacation to Las Vegas that morning....I may postpone it til the following weekend...

I love your Summer decorations. Most of all I love that pink tractor, where can I get one??
ReplyDeleteGood morning Penny, Oh, how cute your Summer decorations are especially the cows and pink tractor. I have an ivy like yours and they do take over. They add so much life to a room. Just cut and snip pieces and put them in water to start a new plant. My sister gave me my start and it is now over 4 feet wide. It is time to give it a haircut.
ReplyDeleteYour banners are add so much to your decorations.
I got my salt and pepper shakers that are black and white cows with little wellies. They are so precious. They are dated 1995. They really make me smile just like all your little cows do when I see them. There is something so sweet and gentle about cows.
Thanks for all your wonderful pictures. They are the Real "Kodak Moments".
Have a super day and week.
Leona
I like the muted look of the background. And your flag banner is just so cute! Thanks for sharing with us at The Blogger's Pit Stop!
ReplyDeleteThat pink tractor is the cutest! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
ReplyDeleteUsing pastels for patriotic decor is such a great alternative to the classic red-white-blue. Love your twist, Penny! Hope to see you tomorrow at Tuesday Turn About, 3pm PST!
