The lights on the carriage wheels didn't work but that was ok as I planned to take them off anyway. |
After a makeover, I put my horse and carriage under a tree in front of the porch in the front yard. |
I thought about giving my stallion a coat of stain, but decided instead that his worn look gave him lots of character. |
I have a Patriotic theme going on in the front yard this summer, so I added some flags to the carriage. |
I've used my umbrella many times in the past over the pony buggy you can see in the background. |
I used a yard sale can can to cover my World Market umbrella frame.. |
Rose garlands completed the look I was going for |
This is the view I have from the car as we pull into the garage....... |
I don't keep fabric on the gliders unless we are entertaining. |
I have plenty of comfy seating available for guest to sit and visit |
Sometimes we entertain during the day......but most of the time, it's in the late afternoon and evening....... |
I enjoy your visits so much.....please come back soon! |
That evening look is so charming.
ReplyDeletePenny, I do love the horse and buggy. Too bad they are not readily available as they make such a Southern Statement about the lazy days of Summer. It is charming and givens such a welcoming touch to your entry.
ReplyDeleteAre those old cancan slips on your umbrella, funny, funny! I love it, repurpose, repurpose, don't throw it out; you might need it someday.
Love, love it all.
Thank you.
Leona
Wow! You really have a lovely space! So many fun and beautiful pieces!
ReplyDeleteI thought your horse and buggy might get some flowers added to them! Too cute! Thanks for sharing at Tuesday Turn About, my friend!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteThe horse and buggy are lovely but what really made my heart flutter was how your porch looks in the evening!! So pretty!!
