We've Made more Progress on the Utility Room Makeover

H and I have been very busy the last few days.       H has made lots of progress on the utility room make over and I have almost all of the Christmas decor packed away......whew....what a job that was!

We've been with out a washer since the first of Dec. and the new set wasn't delivered until this past Monday.    We've been doing our laundry at our daughters house these past weeks and then bringing it home to dry.

H built the unit you see between the washer and dryer several years ago.    He gave it a complete makeover by extending the legs to make it taller and adding Farmhouse doors.    I think he did an amazing job on the doors and am so glad to have all the mess I keep on the shelves hidden.

By H making the unit taller,   it is now the same height as the washer and dryer and can be used as a folding table.

H put a new top over the old one and I white washed it.

My head is spinning with idea's for accessories to complete the new look for the utility room......but,   I am going to try not to clutter the folding table so it will be USABLE.....lol!

I love my new folding table almost as much as I do the new washer and dryer.     The set they replaced were over 15 years old and the dryer was still in perfect condition and the washer needed minor repairs.    We gave the old set to our grandson and grand daughter in law to use in their new home.

I have already started to decorate a little in the utility room.    I love the new drying rack that I found at Hobby Lobby.

The chair that I use at my desk got a fresh coat of  white paint and I replaced the fabric on the cushion with pink and cream buffalo check material.

I also hung a new laundry sign over the doors to the hot water heater and gas furnace.

I'll be back soon with an update sharing more progress on the utility room makeover.

  5. Lucky you to have such a great helper. My now deceased husband was the same and we worked as a team with me being the designer and he the doer of my dream projects! Feed him well! Ha! I don't know how you keep up with all that decorating. I have tamed mine down as I near 80 but must go un-decorate the Christmas and put up the valentine stuff today. I am simplifying these days, though. Have fun.

  8. Love the "new" folding table! I bet it's so nice to have a washer/ dryer once again. We were without for a week or so last January and with a family of 5 that meant a whole lot of laundry piling up and at least one huge trip to the laundry mat.
