Bee-ing on the Back Porch

As the guide lines for quarantine are gradually easing up,   H and I have ventured out a few times to "dine in" and shop a little....... but for the most part we have continued to be homebodies....lol!

We enjoy working in the yard during the day,    but our favorite time is when we relax on the back porch late in the afternoon.

We plan to start entertaining soon,   so I spruced up the back porch with some Bee decor.

Before I share a short tour of my bee decor,   I wanted to show you the cool metal welcome sign that I found at Tractor Supply the other day......

The welcome sign has a solar lite on the top and come in different styles.    I chose the white goat,  but they also have a black metal cow one,  and  a pig one that I think was in brown but I don't remember for sure.

I started sprucing up the back porch by creating a bee themed wreath and mantel.............

I hung bee themed decor on each side of the faux fireplace......

I added bee themed linens to both of the settees......this settee has a bee themed pillow (Walmart $5) and a bee and honey comb throw (Home Goods $17 )

The linens on the other settee are some I already had on hand except for the bee pillow.

I moved  the spool/wash tub coffee table to another area of the yard and replaced it with a large galvanized stock tank turned upside down.      I plan to use the tank as a mini bar when we entertain this summer.   I have a bee themed tablecloth on the new coffee table.

What do I do with the linens when it rains?    They flow seamlessly between the sun room and the back porch.    When it rains,  the throws and pillows are on the sofa and love seat in the sun room ......if it's pretty (which is most of the time since we don't get much rain in New Mexico)   the linens are on the back porch furniture.
I always enjoy your visits so much,   please come back again soon!

  17. Lovely, bee-utiful!!! Penny, I MISS being able to leave pillows outside for most of the year... We get way more rain here in Texas than we ever did in So Cal. Happy you get to enjoy your sweet bee-filled backyard patio and its 340 days of sunshine! <3 (Slight exaggeration, but still... ;)) Oh, we just missed some rain as we came through Albuquerque a couple of weeks ago ~ had to go out to No. Cal. for my father-in-law's memorial as he passed away suddenly.

On a happier note, I am happy to feature your sweet bee sitting area at this week's SYS #260, thank you!!! <3

    Happy summer,
    Barb :)
