The flower beds always start to look a little "stale" about mid summer every year so yesterday H & I spent the day freshening them up a little bit |
My flocks have always been a purple color, but this year some of them are pinkish! |
The pathway thru the flower bed gives me a nice little short cut to the other side of the yard.... |
It's Siesa time for the cat......she loves to lay on the ledge about this time every day.' |
Now to share the bigger change that we made on the other side of the She Shed. |
Here's how it looks from the back side of the yard. |
Here's a photo from the side...... |
Your flowers are just gorgeous, Penny. Love all that pink and purple! I agree with the cat. siesta time!
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful gardens you have! Those fresh pops of color really liven then up.
ReplyDeleteGood morning,
ReplyDeleteHey, those dumpster divers make a small fortune, not a bad idea Mr H.
Your yard is lovely, Penny. Mrs. Cat has the right idea for a siesta everyday.
Thanks for sharing.
It looks great Penny! Your pink and purple flowers are so pretty. I love flocks and need to plant some. :-)
ReplyDeleteHi, Penny...looking gorgeous considering all the heat...and I planted some new flocks, I'm wondering what colors will come up next year, will they cross pollinate? Lovely yard, venturing outside today to sorta fix up ours! Hugs, Sandi
ReplyDeleteOh your flowers look beautiful! I have been wanting to add some Phlox to my garden too I think they may be on the list for next year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great revamp - looks awesome! :)

Ooh, it all looks so beautiful, Penny. I was just looking at my flowers yesterday (I don't have that many!), and I was thinking they were needing a refresh. Some are getting leggy and straggly. You did such a great job.
ReplyDeletePenny, I love the changes to your garden and the new paths look very nice!! Those flowers with the pink heads? What are they?? Are they a phlox?? I would like to seed some into my yard if I knew what they were. Thank you in advance!! <3
ReplyDeleteHappy to feature your lovely summery post at this week's Share Your Style #312 for you,
Hugs,
Barb :)
Hi Barb, yes they are phlox. They used to all be purple but over the years a few plants have became pink so I guess they must cross polinate somewhat Thank you so much for taking time to have a wonderful party for us each week, it is very much appreciated.
DeleteI'm always honored to be featured at the party....hugs...
Your flowers look beautiful, especially after you freshened things up, Penny! You've inspired me to want to make things look a little fresher around my own home.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I'm featuring you this week!
Beautiful flowers. I love the before and after.
ReplyDeletePenny, this is my first time to visit your blog and I love it! So fun. Your yard and home are beautiful! I always looking for flower inspiration for my yard and I know I can find it here!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteYour flowers are gorgeous...I have been moving pots around all Summer as perennials stop blooming and are cut back or if they seem to do better in another area...we have had not only excessive heat for this area but also a lot of rain, all of which are taking a toll on the gardens.....
Hugs,
Deb
