I have layered some doilies on the mantle. |
I considered painting the mantle totally white, but decided that I would leave it original. The mantle is very ornate and has lots of gold accents. |
I hung a pair of cherubs on each end of the fireplace opening and draped some lacey fabric across them. |

This is what I am using for the "fire" part of the fireplace. I put a light in the back of it, since it has no fire, lol! |
Usually the ceramic grates are missing when you find one of these heaters, as they are very fragile. This one had most of them. |
I think everything looks better on a pedistal, just a silver candlestick. |
I can change out the sign on this wreath easily when Thanksgiving gets closer. Just a hat pin (made by moi) stuck into the styrofoam circle of the wreath. |
