Fall..ing for a Vintage School Locker

I fell in love with this locker the minute I laid eyes on it!  I got it from a special friend about three weeks ago.  Isn't she a beauty???   It has been in sitting in the back of the SUV since then, what with Howard's back surgery and everything else.  We finally got it unloaded yesterday.   ( If you want to see what the porch looked like before...here is the link
http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2012/09/fall-front-porch.html)

Howard gave it a good cleaning yesterday and scraped off the tape. I couldn't wait to decorate it!!

I got out this cute little scare crow that belonged to my mother.  He actually is not that "little", he is taller than me!

He needed a clean shirt, so I got one of Howard's old Tommy's that he doesn't wear anymore...put a bird in his pocket and added a fall garland around his neck.

Gave him an old pitch fork that is being held together with wire!

I also got out this rooster that belonged to my dad...he is real, except for the comb thingy!

You ask, Why is she showing this old stool?  Well, this was my mothers "high chair" when she was a little girl in the early 1930's.  It was a nice fall color and I need something to put the rooster on.

This poor old pumpkin landed in our front yard!  We live on a main street and it must have fallen off someones truck..looks like it skidded a while!!  I thought it had character so I added it to the vignette.

I added a burlap bow to the wreath that was already hung on the baby springs. and put a Welcome fall sign on the lockers.

I swept over a bunch of leaves to add some more fall to my vignette.  I think that scarecrow needs some new shoes!    Is that a roller skate on the left?  You never know what will turn up on the porch!

Thank you so much Donna for my new lockers, I just love them!

  1. Lovely vignette. I am envious of the locker - I had to leave a unit behind a couple of weeks ago at the flea market because the truck was filled. My favorite items here are your dad's rooster on your mother's stool. Family history at its best!
