I have been "tweeking" the kitchen the last few days and am so pleased with the results. I did some deep cleaning, changed some of the vignettes on the counter tops, and now the kitchen has a fresh new look.
I started in this corner of the kitchen and worked my way around. I added some touches of silver to give the kitchen a warmer look for fall.
More silver trays and some faux donuts...
a silver dish filled with potpourri, and for a little whimsey...a silver lid on the vintage bread box!
Next to the bread box is a collection of vintage crocheted pot holders displayed on a fan shaped metal card holder. See that cute ice cream cone on the left (the big one!) ? I found it in the Christmas ornament section at HL the other day... I have always incorporated Christmas decorations into my everyday decorating...lol!
I got the pretty rose picture (behind the ceramic cake) over the week end at a yard sale. I dry brushed the gold frame with white paint to tone it down a bit....and added some silver pieces to the vignette.
I also added some pieces of "food". I bought the banana split and ice cream cones at the 90% sales last Christmas.
While I had the shelves cleaned off of the hoosier to do some dusting, I decided to put something new on the shelves.
Aren't these little silver bird salt and pepper shakers cute?
Going around the kitchen, we are now at the breakfast/lunch table.
I found these cute "you take the cake" paper napkins at TJ Maxx the other day. I layered the plates and added a faux cupcake on top. A silver tea cup and a fresh rose from my garden complete the tablescape.
I have the silver crumb "dust pans" handy, to clean up any cupcake crumbs..lol!
I bought this cart at the auction the other day...it was bundled with some other stuff that I paid $5 for.
It was pretty wobbly and had several large rust places, but H put in some screws, slapped on some white paint...and here she is!
I added some cupcakes to the egg basket that this sweet little chicken is guarding!
Ooops....I've went around the room and forgot to show you this little table under the window.
H painted this picnic basket for me a couple of weeks ago. I intended to have a picnic in the back yard with Kyleigh, but things got "hecktic" and it didn't happen. So, I decided to use it here....it goes with my cupcake/sweet shop theme...right???

Penny, love all of your cupcake and food décor! The touches of silver go so well with your pretty pinks. I enjoyed the tour of your delightful kitchen! I spied the apron and oven mitt from your give away win. Looks right at home! Thanks for sharing with SYC.ReplyDelete
I think the soft pink is surprisingly pretty in the kitchen. It reminds me of a 50's kitchen, when they had the pink appliances and tiles.
You have a knack for decorating, that is for sure.
Seriously......your home is perfectReplyDelete
Happy...Happy...Happy Pink Saturday!
God bless and strengthen you in all things!
What a picture-perfect kitchen! I love how you've taken rusty and worn things and redone them into objects of beauty.ReplyDelete

Absolutely wonderful kitchen! Thank you for sharing with Sunday View.ReplyDelete
Your blog is very attractive, I cordially greetReplyDelete
I love your kitchen - so girly and fancy.ReplyDelete
Such an adorable and homey kitchen. You do have a lot of energy to keep all of that dusted, move all off the stove to cook, and clear the table before setting it to eat....and then putting it all back again. I love the look, but I think I'm not that energetic to move all those pretties back in place after cooking. You do have great ideas. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your white painted brick home, the fence, the way you did the "columns" in the front. Just adorable !!!ReplyDelete
I just found your blog tonight and am in love!!!! What caught my eye on Pintrest was your sofa and loveseat. I purchased a mid-century wood sofa with chairs that is currently upholstered in a scratchy green tweedy looking fabric. I'm going to paint it an antique white and redo the cushions in pinks and blues for my back porch, which is in the process of being screened in. I love what you did with yours and plan to mimic it with my set. Including a dust ruffle.ReplyDelete
Then, I looked at your kitchen. Ha! I have the same fabric chicken! I got her at a antique/flea mall a few years back. She's in my bedroom for now. I'm thinking she may get to go out on the back porch when I start decorating!
Your blog as excited me!!! I probably won't be able to sleep for mulling over and over and over your kitchen and sofas!!!
Thank you so much for sharing!
