I think sunflowers just "sing" summer..... |
You can see in this photo how this area has been neglected this year.....wildflowers and morning glories have pretty much taken over! |
The sunflowers are so top heavy that I have found the best way to display them is in a single tall vase. |
The little yellow shed on the left is where I store the bulk of my holiday décor.... |

Penny, your back-yard is so pretty.

I love the sunflowers they always
cheer me and look just so summery.
Yes, I know the stores are ridiculous
I hate to see Back to school supplies in

Stopping by from Turn It Up Tuesday. I'm a lover of sunflowers. I planted a few in my vegetable garden this year. The American Gold Finch love them, so most don't make it in the house. I love the idea of displaying them in a tall vase. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI thought of planting sunflowers but in my small yard, they are too big but I do love them!! Okay, just how many buildings are now in your back yard????? I see yet another shed.....

Sun flowers are one of my most favourite flowers. They are like cheerful sunny faces! We always grew them when the kids were small as they loved planting something that ended up bigger then them.
ReplyDeleteWow, you have convinced me....Sunflowers are going on my must grow next year list!
ReplyDeleteThey are gorgeous Penny!
Love sunflowers, they just shout SUMMERTIME! Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY...

Sunflowers make me so happy! Love it. Pinned. Sending love your way! Lou Lou Girls
ReplyDeleteI love sunflowers, but last year, they came and went so fast that it made the summer feel like it flew by too fast. I decided to give it a rest this year and not grow them because they ended up making me sad. I grow ENORMOUS sunflowers that end up with trunks the thickness of my arms, so the squirrels just climb up and ransack them as soon as the flowers are starting to droop. It ends up looking like a massacre out there. Another reason to skip a year :)
ReplyDeleteThose sunflowers are gorgeous and so cheery! I agree with you, they do sing summer :) Thank you for linking up to the Art of Home-Making Mondays!
ReplyDeleteThis was such a pretty post Penny and has been featured on the Art of Home-Making Mondays this week ;) Thank you for joining in!
