Architectural Details

 

I love the look that architectural elements add to a room and I was able to purchase a few good pieces at a yard sale over the week end.   I had been to a sale at this ladies house last summer and it was a really good one....so,  we got up early and waited out in the front of her house until she opened Saturday.   It was so worth it!!!!

I bought several pieces ,  but the first one I want to show you is the arched window.   I knew exactly where I would put it when we got home.   I took down the ruffles and lace that separated the family room from the formal dining room.   In their place H hung the arched window ($50)  and two vintage doors ($10 each)

I really like how you can see thru the "window/door wall" into the dining room....

Here is another before photo.  I stood the trunk up and moved it to the other end of the sofa where the buffet was. (the buffet went to my booth to be sold) 

To the left of the door .....

I hung two mirrors that I found in the 90% off isle at HL   

 I shabbied up the shades on the $10 chandy that I bought at a yard sale last week end and hung it to the right of the mirrors.

 

I also found some sweet pillows.....

The burlap ones were $1.50 each and the shabby chic one was $2.

My new rose bush.......



 $3 at a yard sale.      It still has the HL $64.99 tag on it!
