Sunken Garden

I wanted to share the Sunken Garden that we visited today.....

The garden has been here as long as I can remember.....in the back ground you can see the old golf course that is now a park for dog walking and one of the two playgrounds.

So many gorgeous roses are in bloom....

It smells heavenly as we walk around the garden.....

I'll let you just enjoy the garden ......

The Sunken Garden is available for weddings.  The bride enters the garden down these rock steps....

The ceremony is held here.

The benches you see are normally scattered around the garden so you can sit down...    They are stacked up today because the grass will be mowed later this afternoon.       More benches can be brought in if you need them for your wedding.

We attended a wedding here a couple of years ago...it is just magical.....

Behind this tall rock wall is a Splash Park and the City Zoo is just north of this area.

See the blooms on the Smoketree in the left top corner.    The trees in our area have been in bloom for quite a while and the deep purple blooms are fading.

Our Grand daughter looks forward to our time at the park......here she is playing in the sand with some other little girls.

  1. How delightful = thanks for sharing this with us, Penny!

I attended an outdoor wedding last weekend on a little lake with a park and fountain and luscious gardens. Never thought of taking pictures - should have, it was so pretty.
