Coastal Christmas Decor

The bath that opens into the master bedroom is styled in a coastal theme year round,   so at Christmas all I need to do is add a few seaside inspired pieces to give the bath a holiday feel.

I placed  a Coastal Santa in front of  existing sea shell framed mirror on the bathroom vanity.    I think that Santa might like to go sailing in his "off time",  so  I placed a sail boat next to him just in case...lol!

The master bath opens into the bedroom....no door!    The opening is pretty large,  so a standard door was not an option without some major remodel.    I put a ruffled "curtain" to close when you need some privacy and of course you can always close the bedroom door and I have a "do not disturb" sign that you can hang on the door knob.

I added a small lit tree to the left side of the vanity ..........

I put a "sea shell" skirt around the base of the tree.

On the right side of the vanity,   the only holiday decor I added was a spray of glittered beads to the existing floral design  and added a seashell wreath to the bowl of shells.

Since I have decorative towels on the wall,   I have a glass jar full of folded cloths to dry your hands on.    Just pop one out,  dry your hands,  and toss it in the hamper to be washed later.

I have a chandy and a simple wall treatment on the other side of the vanity wall.    The double walk in shower is also on that side of the bathroom.

I have the window open again today....it is gorgeous weather here in Eastern New Mexico.   You can see the reflection of the open widow in the seaside picture that I have on the wall by the shower.    The reflection hides the view of the ocean that you can see from the front porch. in the picture.

We have begun the count down to Thanksgiving!

  10. Beautiful bathroom and love the coastal decor. That is a clever way to do hand towels. It's nice to have the decorative towels out and this is a practical solution to provide drying towels. Using the curtain as a "door" adds another layer of texture to your bedroom. Very nice!

  15. Your coastal Christmas decorating is so charming :-) I can totally see Santa going off for a sail! Funny you should mention not having a door to the master bathroom - I took the door off ours in our house back in Ottawa, and a couple of days ago decided I'd like to do the same in our current house. Hanging a curtain in place of the door is a good idea :-)

  16. Penny,
Love that beaded starfish and the "shell" tree skirt!! Beautiful!! I finished the Den so all I have left is the Doll House and the Powder Room. One more night of work in my 3 day stretch and then I am off for 2. Patient census is down in our department because of the Holiday so that makes me happy!! Happy Thanksgiving!
    Hugs,
    Deb

  18. It's fun to add a little Christmas to an existing theme. I do the same in my guest bedroom style Americana. A few little patriotic Ornaments and Santa's and it's decked out for the season. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
