Weekend Treasure Hunt

It was slim pickin's at the yard and estate sales this past weekend.    Yard sales are a LOT of work and I guess not many wanted to do that on Labor Day weekend.....lol!
I thought you might enjoy seeing the "inside story" at one of the estate sales I went to.

You could see signs on the front porch that there had been a lot of plants for sale earlier in the day,   but at .50 each,  they had been picked over.

I headed straight for the kitchen to see what treasures could be found there.

This pretty pink depression glass bowl caught my eye.....

And of course,  came home with me....lol!

From the kitchen,  I headed to the bedrooms to see if they had any linens for sale,  but sadly they didn't have any that I wanted to bring home with me.

Like I said earlier,  the pickin's were slim so the island looks pretty bare.

I found another bowl holder.

It's funny how things go at the yard sales......I'd never seen one before and I've found two in the past few months.

Small porch picture for $1...........

Gold easel for 25 cents...........

I wanted to share the Christmas party plates  I found at Tuesday Morning.    It is so hard to find Christmas plates in pastel colors,  so I wanted to let you know where you might find some.

The silver tray chalkboard and easel was $1 and my wicker plate cover was only 50 cents.

Thank you for stopping by today...come back soon!

Please visit my side bar to see "Where I Party"  and stop by and visit a few of these great blogs!

  2. Hi Penny, love those Christmas party plates! That's how it is sometimes, slim pickings. :) Two of my sisters, a friend, and I are heading to Pie Town, NM this weekend. We will be spending two nights in Gallop. Wondered if you know of any fun places we should check out along the way?
    hugs,
    Jann

  3. Penny, I've been yard saling since the 1970's and feathering our nest with those finds. Now, our nest is beyond full. Life's cycle: CDE - collect, display, then eliminate. :)

  4. Going to a big estate sale tomorrow. Need to get up early to have the most choices. They are so much fun. An estate sale company here has one about every two weeks. Love & Hugs!
