Late Summer Farmhouse Style Mantel

We've been getting some much needed rain here in Eastern New Mexico,   so I have been stuck in the house.   I hadn't planned to change out the Patriotic decor I had on the mantel until after Labor Day,  but  I was bored today!     SO,    here's my late summer mantel.

I wanted to create a Farmhouse style mantel with a Market flower theme .......and this is what I came up with!

On the left side of the mantel ,   I have a framed chalkboard with Market Fresh Flowers written on it.....a small metal flower watering can filled with roses......some greenery....a metal candle holder....and a small cow print.

In the center of the mantel,   I have a big metal chicken nesting box.

I filled the nesting box with dried babies breath.

Under the nesting box,   I have a three armed candle sconce.    Instead of putting candles in the holders,  I placed a rose in the center one and a bird on each of the side arms.   Then I hung a small preserved boxwood wreath on the sconce.

On the right side of the mantel.....

I have a old rusted scale.....a metal candlestick that matches the one on the other side of the mantle.....a metal bucket filled with roses like the ones in the watering can on the other side......greenery......and a wooden Flea Market sign.

I hung a metal cow and pig on each side of the mantel scarf and I filled an olive bucket with.......

lots of roses and and some preserved eucalyptus.

I placed shadow boxes filled with flowers on each side of the bucket of roses.

Here's the shadow box on the other side.

I have a metal candle holder on the coffee table that I need to pick up some candles for .....or maybe I'll fill it with something else!

  2. I love the overflowing roses and eucalyptus in the olive bucket! I have 2 tall galvanized buckets in my guest room that need flowers. I had hydrangeas. I've been thinking magnolias. But maybe I'll take a page from your book and try lots of roses and eucalyptus.

    Thanks for sharing!
