Inspiration for Your Summer to Fall Transition

I have several shops that I wander through to get inspiration for my fall decorating and today I'm going to share one of my favorites with you.

First I want to show you what I bought while I was there......

I fell in love with this metal basket hanging from a pulley.    It found a home hanging in the middle of the pass thru from the kitchen to the family dining room.      I filled it with a big pumpkin.......I noticed they are trending this fall.     I've had mine for years,   so I'm glad to see they're back in style!

I created a fall vignette on each side of my hanging basket......

You may remember seeing the chicken feeder I used on each side........

I found it Saturday on my week end treasure hunt.
When you pull the top off,  the feeder makes two pieces to use in your decorating.

Are you ready for a little tour of my inspiration place?

When I spotted my pulley/ basket,     it was hung from the ceiling.
There were several people at the front desk,   but this nice gentlemen insisted that he would get it down.      One of the ladies at the desk kept telling him to let her do it,   but he was determined that he would do!

This antique mall is in an old bowling alley in Lubbock's huge with lots of booths.     I could spend a whole day in there,   but there is one booth that I just love and that's the one I spend most of my time in.     It's called The Nest Egg.

I always love visiting with the lady that has this booth but she wasn't there the day I went.

I have a couple of big pumpkins like this one......that I've had for,  I'll have to get them dug out to use in my fall decorating.

I'm not ready to think about decorating for Halloween yet,   but I enjoyed looking at the decor she had out.

This witch was almost life size and had a sweet face......for a!

I think velvet pumpkins will be trending this fall.

I loved these sunflowers....they looked and felt so real     I may have to get a few of them the next time I'm there.

Silver and pretty fall the dome lighting.

I always look forward to seeing the fall 'family".....they are different every year.

Metal lanterns.....

This guy was my favorite......

The Nest Egg has a great selection of faux flowers.     I bought my paper whites there this past spring.

Around the corner from the Nest Egg is another booth with lots of inspiration.    That's the biggest French drying rack I've ever seen......and I love the metal lighting.

A metal scare crow and another big bumpy pumpkin.

Here's another one of my favorite booths.....

I love the swan and his "ride" too!

French formal fall......

There are so many beautiful booths in the mall was hard to pick which ones to share.     .

I usually find something in this one to bring home with me......

I didn't find anything the day I was there,   but I sure looked at this birdhouse and thought about it!     Maybe next time....

Here's a sneak peek at what my next project is.
I moved the glass display cabinet you can see a little bit of  on the right side of the photo from the kitchen to the family dining room.     Now to decorate it!

Til Next Time!

  1. Penny, Treasures upon treasures, beyond belief. So sweet of the gentleman to get the pulley basket for you. He wanted to be your hero. I love that. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. Oh Penney you made my day.Hard for me to leave the house but I felt like I just shopped with you.Thank you for letting me come along. What a great bunch of Halloween goodies.

  3. What a gorgeous mall...way beyond anything we have here....and your touches of ---uh oh..Fall...are sigh---we haven't been able to enjoy our summer here, yet.

  4. I think i could spend all day shopping and look around there; we don't have any stores that I know of like that around here.

  5. Penny, I love spending time in a good antique mall. Sadly Austin doesn't have much to offer these days. Maybe I need a road trip to Lubbock. Happy Weekend!

  6. PENNY!!!!
OMG! What an amazing place that you shared with us!! So many beautiful displays! I would go crazy in there!! Thanks so much for taking us along!! Love your display! I really love how you incorporate Farmhouse with your romantic decor! You definitely have a talent for it!

  7. What a fun shopping trip you had. I love those big pumpkins & those faux sunflowers are amazing. Thanks for sharing at #HomeMattersParty

  8. Penny, you just amaze me! How cool that you have such a wonderful place to shop--but I'll bet you're one of the reasons they've stayed in business! :)

Moving from summer to fall can be a little tricky. It's much too hot here for me just to pull out all the fall decor. I like your ideas for transitioning.

Thanks so much for joining the Grace at Home party at Imparting Grace. I'm featuring you this week!

  9. Happy Pink Saturday, Penny. This was fun. Thanks for sharing. This post is being featured on my Pink Saturday post this week as "the one with the most clicks".♥

  10. I loved all the fall inspiration. Thanks so much for playing along with Funtastic Friday. You were my feature for the week.

  11. I lived in Lubbock for three years. This cute place wasn't there when we lived there or I'd have bought it out. Thanks for sharing. If I'm ever through Lubbock again, it would be a good stop. I can't think of where an old bowling alley would have been.

It makes my day to hear from my friends!
