Dollar Tree Scare Crow Hat

I've seen several Dollar Tree black witch hats transformed into gorgeous scare crow hats to hang on your door this fall.

I already had a wreath made that I want to hang on my front door,   but I still couldn't wait to try my hand at making a scare crow hat.

I decided I would use my scare crow hat in a tabletop vignette.
I thought about displaying it on an easel,   but in the end,   I sat it on a clear glass cake stand.

Then I had to decide where to put my fall vignette!
After looking around the house for a place to put my vignette,    I decided the chesser     ( a chesser is the marriage of a chest of drawers and a dresser)   in the master bedroom would be a perfect place for it.     I only had a simple bouquet of roses in a vase there,   so it was easy to clear a space for it.

This is the after of my Dollar Tree witch hat........

This is the before and during!
All I did to my hat was take off the silver boo letters and buckle.      I covered the top part of my hat with part of an old legging of mine!     I cut it just below the knee......sewed the ankle part together.....and slipped it over my hat.      I tacked the bottom around the brim of the hat to hold it in place.
I don't like to do tutorials,   so I'm going to share the name of someone that can show you just how to make one for yourself..............Olivia Parazine.       Just Google her and you'll find all kinds of fun tutorials

I used lots of texture on my scare crow hat.......

Ribbons.........

Fall grains........

Velvet pumpkins.......

I also decorated under the hat......

and........I decorated to the side of it too

I hope my scare crow hat inspired you to make one to use in your fall decorating!

Til next time........
