New Mexico, the land of enchantment! It's a wonderful state to visit and I should know since I've lived here all my life! |
I like the color on the drier chili's so that's what I picked out to bring home. |
I also wanted to share the Christmas pick up that I found at Walmart over the week end. |
Before....................................................................During I cant' wait to share the complete makeover later! |
The store where I bought my chili wreath at is not only a nursery, but is also a gift shop |
The gift shop was full of Christmas treasures....... |
Silver train loaded with Christmas tree's |
Pretty Christmas dishes....... |
Snow men....... |
' and more snow men....... |
Painted Santa buckets |
Christmas in the Southwest! |
They also roast chili's........you haven't lived until you've smelled chili's roasting! |
I only took pictures of a few of the unique stores in Ruidoso.........Grizzly's wood log art caught my eye! |
Ruidoso is located right by an Indian reservation. |
This rustic furniture shop also caught my eye....... |
Beautiful yard decor...... |
The Re Store was such a unique store....... |
Metal lamps made from scrap parts....... |
Floor lamp....... |
This piece looks like a clock married a Victrola and several other things.....lol! |
Antler chair and looks like I cut off the top of the antler lamp when I took the photo..... |
Hand made metal desk...... |
Ruidoso sits in the middle of the mountains...... |
I rolled down my window to get a photo of this deer family. They never even flinched when I took their picture! |
If you're a fan of Horse Racing........Ruidoso is the place for you! |
Ruidoso Downs is where all the action is...... |
Here's a link to their site........https://www.raceruidoso.com/ |
I didn't take any picture at the hotel, but there are plenty on their site.......https://innofthemountaingods.com/ |
Hope you enjoyed pictures of our relaxing week end getaway! |
Does that nursery and gift shop have a website?
ReplyDeleteI would love some of the pepper swags and wreathes!
Hi Patti, here's a link to their website......http://www.seasonsnurserynm.com/ Have a great day!
DeleteLove the carved cardinal. There is a place here in Oregon City that does carvings like that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the vicarious trip. Oh, that brings back so many memories of when I lived in Albuquerque in the '60s. I love the chilies both read and green as they each have such a unique flavor. It is so much fun to go into the shops that have fun collectible things. I too love the wood carvings. In Denver there was and she still may have a shop, a lady who ran a store called the Christmas Store and it was open all year round. It had fun things like what you found. My sisters and niece loved to go in there and shop. We bought things that we used all the time. Thanks for sharing your trip. You always make me feel like traveling, garage sale shopping or look for unique places. Oh, here's one for you and your readers, Nebraska's Junk Jaunt. It's held last part of September every year. It's spread over one county. I haven't been there yet, but a friend went this year and had a ball. She found lots of treasures and didn't break the bank. You can google the information. I love to share fun ideas. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK.

I recently read a mystery in which some of the action takes place in and around Ruidoso and it looks like the author described it very well. Beautiful. I'm glad you had so much fun. The pepper wreaths and swags look yummy.
