Family Time and a Visit to Canton Texas

H & I took our 13 yo grand daughter to visit family in east Texas recently.    I have lots of family that live in area's north east of Dallas.
We went to a big cat fish fry out at my cousins house and their property is just gorgeous so I took a few photo's to share with you guys.     Most of the photo's were taken outside,   but I did take some of her huge closet.    I also took some photo's of a shop that we visited in Canton......if you ever get a chance to shop Canon on "first Monday" it's worth the trip

My cousin's family live out in the country in a beautiful Farmhouse that they built several years ago.

Kim planted a huge garden this year......

She started all of her plants from seeds in her greenhouse.

Our grand daughter and her cousin spent most of their time in Kim and Doyle's gorgeous pool ......

Here's a better shot of just "some" of her garden......

Kim's closet is a recent addition to the house......they did all the construction themselves......wow, what a great job!

I only took photo's at Paul Michael's shop,   but their are tons of shops to visit  in Canton......

I brought home some of those faux cat tails.......and the Farmhouse Dr sign in the next photo....and maybe a few more things....lol!

We were only able to stay 4 days and are already looking forward to our next visit!

  9. My dad was born in Texas in 1909. When I was nine, my family spent a 3 month month vacation, seeing all the places dad wanted us to see, before we went back to Long Beach, California. Then years and years helping mom wash and pack the intricate parts that were machined in dad newly opened machine shop. Dad had contracts with McDonnel Douglas Aircraft Company and machined parts for aircraft of all kinds. See so much of Texas left me wanting to see it all again. My husband has a lot of cousins in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I'd love to visit them once more, too.
