Spring Battenburg Lace Table Runner

I have been searching for a vintage Battenburg lace table runner for a while now and have not been able to find one that I loved so I decided to make one using a tablecloth that I had on hand.

I have collected a few that have stains on the fabric that I have been unable to remove......torn places.....and in the case of the one I chose to make into a runner it had fabric puckering around the lace.

As you can see in the before photo,   I was unable to stop the puckering around the lace.     I simply cut the fabric away from the lace......not a quick task...lol....about 3 hours!

I am really pleased with the way my runner turned out......I love it!

After I created a centerpiece for the table,    I added some spring touches to the fireplace mantel

I hung a new picture or three...lol.   over the buffet.    You have seen all of these pics many times in different rooms in the house.

The formal dining room is all ready for our family to enjoy Easter dinner together.....

If you follow my blog,    you know that I also have a cozy dining area in the family room which we also use when there's a big crowd!    We've also been known to spill out onto the farm table on the front porch to eat if the weather is mild.

Thanks so much for dropping by....come back again soon!

  3. So pretty! I have a round Battenburg lace tablecloth. My sister gave it to me as a house warming gift about 30 years ago. I love it! I give you credit for being brave enough to cut yours. It really came out pretty!

  5. Pretty. The fabric must be washed before sewing otherwise it does that.
