Metal Rooster Planter Transformation & Decorating a small Curio Cabinet for Fall

I have a couple of things to share with you guys today

I found this cute chicken wire Rooster planter at Tractor Supply marked down pretty low so I picked it up to use in my outdoor flower beds.

I planned on painting it white from the begining,   but when I sat it up on the pass thru for a before photo I changed my mind about only using it outdoors.

You may yet see my new planter in a flower bed but for right now it's found a home on the pass thru filled with mums.

The next thing I wanted to share today is the small cabinet in the family dining room decorated for fall.    I show the big built in cabinet on the other wall all the time,   but very seldom share what's inside the little lit cabinet .

The shelves are small and its hard to create a vignette in such a tight area.

I kept my vignettes simple.....a piece of pink milk glass,   a couple of small pumpkins,  and a wooden easel with a fall print clipped on it.

The next shelf has a Hello Autumn print and a small bowl filled with more mini white pumpkins.

I was lucky enough to find this aqua hob nail milk glass lidded jar years ago.....I haven't seen that color available very often.

This shelf has the top part of an old oil lamp displayed on it.    Due to the size restrictions of my shelves,   I wasn't able to put it in it's holder or or put the chimney on it either.    I really should have taken a pic of it out of the cabinet....fully assembled....lol!

I have really enjoyed creating tablescapes in the family room this fall.    If you missed those posts,   here's the links to them......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2021/09/blue-mason-jar-fall-tablescape.html

  1. Hi Penny! Oh, the little Rooster planter looks adorable painted white and like you I would use it indoors. Perfect! I have my mothers little curio cabinet and it looks just like yours except it's still the wooden color. It is hard to decorate inside. Yours looks so lovely!
    Be a sweetie,
