Even though H & I are only having tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich for lunch at the snack bar, I still wanted to eat on pretty dishes. Sometimes we eat on paper plates but I just felt like using my lemon dishes today. Could be because I gave the kitchen a makeover this morning with my auction lemon tree as inspiration.....lol!
I bought my lemon dishes several years ago at Dollar Tree and have used them many times to set a pretty table in the past
The placemats and lemon glasses also came from Dollar Tree.
I have service for 4 in the dinner plates and soup bowls, but for some reason I bought 8 salad plates....who knows why!
I have 8 water glasses....but only bought the 2 wine glasses that I have on the snack bar.
We use the water glasses every day, but I keep the other lemon stuff put away unless I plan to use it.
I've shared some of my auction purchases over the last few weeks and I wanted to show you where the lemon tree wound up. I thought it would go in the sunroom, but I didn't really like it there.
So for now my $25 auction lemon tree has found a spot in the kitchen.
The kitchen has a fun lemonade theme that I plan to share in upcoming posts.
But before I close this post, I wanted to share the print I have on the fridge
My grands will be tearing the freezer apart looking for the Pink Lemonade Popsicles.....sadly I haven't found any yet but I am still in hopes that I can find some or maybe even make my own.
If I decide to make my own, here's a recipe for Mojito Pink Lemonade Popsicles I found that looks good for the adults....and it can be made "grandkid friendly" too
- 8-12 mint leaves
- fresh squeezed juice from 1 lime
- 3 cups of strawberry lemonade
- 2 tablespoons of simple syrup
- 3/4 cup rum*
*To make it non-alcoholic just switch out the rum for 3/4 cup of blended fresh strawberries (just pop chopped strawberries into a blender and blend until liquified).
The 4th of July is almost here..... I can't wait!
Loved seeing your lemon themed kitchen; you prove that style doesn't have to be expensive!!! Loved all the lemons and the pink and crocheted stuff on the inside of your cupboard door. (I have old posters on some of mine; yours is SOOO much prettier!ReplyDelete
