Pastel Pumpkins in the Sun Room

I added a touch of fall to the sun room today.  I have the sun room decorated in pink and blue and will probably leave it that way until after Christmas.

I put all of the pumpkins on pedestals so you could see them above the sofa. Plus, I think anything looks better on a pedestal.  The little blue one is on a gazing ball stand and the bigger one is on a piece of an old lamp bottom.

Old painted mason jars make a good pedestal for small pumpkins.

I accented this cream colored pumpkin with a starched doily.

I wanted some velvet pumpkins this year!  I looked everywhere for pale blue velvet,  with no luck.

Then, I was at a yard sale the other day and spotted the exact color that I wanted!   A pale blue baby blanket!   It was soft and velvet  " like" and it was $1.  (have you priced velvet!!!!!)

It was double thickness, so I cut it apart and had enough for two pumpkins and a pretty large scrap left over.

My grandmother taught me how to cut a circle from material......you fold in half, then quarter, then again. You will have a cone shape. Then I just eyeball the distance on each side and cut off the excess.  (you could measure to be exact, but with a pumpkin, close enough is good enough!  If you were making a tablecloth...MEASURE)  I  gathered it up with heavy duty thread , put some beans in the bottom for weight and added my stuffing.  Then I hot glued a dried pumpkin stem to the top

So now I have my pastel pumpkins for the sun room.

Here is a close up of the beautiful crochet that is on the back of the sofa..

Sometimes they don't have the arm covers to match, but this one did!

This is the lamp that is by the sofa, I thought I would show you the beautiful hand painted roses on it.

I am so glad that you visited our sun room today, please stop by again soon!
