Pink Melamine Dishes!

H and I went to an estate sale in Muleshoe, Tx on Friday.   Muleshoe is a little town  30 miles from where we live, about 5,000 people.  It was one of the largest sales I have ever seen, huge house, and several out buildings, all full!  I picked up this set of Melamine dishes, 7 for $5.00. Sadly, there was not a complete set of 8, one must have got lost because I know you can't destroy this kind of dish!!!    H bought 2 wood file cabinets for his workshop that I will show later, $10 each.

Says 'Melamine" on the back of the dishes.

I am busy decorating for Christmas , so this simple tablescape was put together in about 30 minutes!   For the centerpiece I used a lamp that my mother bought in 1950 while visiting San Diego, Ca.

These are some 50's pink glasses with a cute gold birdcage theme.

Of course, plastic dishes need plastic silverware.

I collect vintage hot pads, so I added some of them to the tablescape.

Vintage pitcher....

And I threw in a Santa! (On the buffet, you can see a peek of the Putz glitter village I have been working on for Christmas!)

  31. I love the pink melamine plates and the pink vintage glasses are pretty with them. I like going to sales and antiquing and you certainly found a treasure at this one. When you mentioned Mule Shoe, Texas, I knew it was near Lubbock. My son is now living in Lubbock and we are driving there with my mother for Thanksgiving. He works for KCBD 11 as the weekend Sports Anchor and just loves Lubbock and being back closer to home for he is from Texas. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
