I used a vintage crystal lamp for the centerpiece of the Valentine tablescape I clipped vintage Valentines and added some ruffles to the shade |
I added some simple tulle bows to the back of the chairs.... |
Each place setting has a cute couple.... |
I used stacked crystal plates, pink glasses, and gold silverware.... |
Of course, I will remove the doilies and figurines when we eat! |
Doilies for placemats.... |
The table runner is vintage Valentines that belonged to my mother and grandmother...... |
This one was given to my grandmother ... |
about 1928 or 1929... |
Some of the "newer" ones were given to my mother about 1936... |
I think we will enjoy looking thru the Valentines as we enjoy a sweet Valentine dinner! |

ReplyDeleteOooh, I am in LOVE!... your Valentines decor is so pretty!... one of my favorite holidays... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! I love the glasses!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so nice..... you can tell you enjoy playing with the decorations. By the way you have a very nice collection of dishes. I use to have the same flatware but sold it at a yard sale. I still have two more styles of the gold flatware. I was really into the gold stuff years ago and end up painting some serving pieces on the outside.... haven't decided to get rid of it or not..... trying to simplify to a certain extent... I think its age!
ReplyDeleteHave a Wonderful Day~
I love your tablescape, especially the figurines as I collect those types of figurines. take care, Darlene
ReplyDeleteOh every detail is amazing. I love the little romantic couples on each plate and the vintage Valentines. So sweet, the ones that belonged to your mom and grandma. I was sad when I lived in France learned they don't have this tradition of giving Valentines in school. No decorations, nothing. I was teaching there and it was strange. If you are couple you just go out to dinner. That's about it. I just love the tradition of giving cards. I still have a scrapbook of mine from the 70s. I am glad I kept them.

ReplyDeleteHow I love those vintage valentines. the graphics are incredible. You must have quite a collection of them. They're so pretty and cheerful, fun to look at.
ReplyDeleteYour table is gorgeous, looks like a great deal of finessing was done. You have great collections. I recognized several of your doilies, I have a few of the same ones. I can only imagine how much time you must spend having to dust all your pretties.
We bought a smaller place in 06' after moving from KY to CO so had to get rid of several of my pretties including my buffet/hutch, table/chairs, no room for them in smaller house. For little while I had buffet/hutch in our mud room but all I did was dust furniture/pretties and pass thru the room to others. Got tired of not getting to enjoy them and dusting them so sold the furniture. Still have several of the doilies, vintage tablecloths, and glass collectibles in shed. Can't bring myself to sell them for so little. I've been using the vintage cloths to make table runners/curtains and some of doilies for pillow cover decorations. So glad you get to enjoy your pretties.
How lovely! Your home is so charming and romantic and with the addition of the Valentine embellishments and decor, it is even more romantic....Christine
ReplyDeleteHow precious to have all those valentines!
