Here are some before, during, and after pictures. The back of the fireplace is constructed from three 2x12x7' and two 2x6x7'.($60 at Lowes) The mantle is a 2x12x6' ($6) The columns are 2x10x42" (auction $5) The white frames on the columns are shutters and the pink piece in the middle of them is a piece of rocking chair leg. The victorian corner pieces on the sides of the mantle are some I bought at a yard sale for $2 The piece under the mantle is a $4 yard sale shelf. The mirror was $5 at a yard sale. So, with screws, paint, and lumber...the total project was less than $100. |
I love the purple and white display. That is so pretty. Your fireplace really is quite a focal point in your garden. It must be wonderful to sit in one of those big comfy white chairs on a warm summer day. A kitten...tell us more about that little sweetie.
ReplyDeleteHello kitty!... oooh, your kitty is adorable!... and Penny... how on earth do you ever decide where you want to sit?... you have sooo many beautiful places... I really would just wander around all day, like Goldilocks, trying every chair and table... only they would ALL be "just right"... your new fireplace is just stunning!... xoxo Julie Marie

Penny so fun coming to your blog, you just totally amaze and amuse me! Love the design of your patio fireplace, and that sweet kitty peeking around the corner. It's kinda like the Movie with Chevy Chase, where they cue the Deer! Cue the Kitty!

ReplyDeleteLooks like you did a lot of work to make everything so nice. I have a baby change table that I converted into a potting bench. I put curtains around the 3 sides to hide the supplies and sheet metal on the top to protect the wood. Works like a charm.

Thank you for the information on the building of the fireplace but I am curious if it is secured down??? We have some crazy storms here, so I was just wondering?
