Treasure Island

I unpacked some more of my auction treasures this morning.   I displayed them on the kitchen island because of the great lighting....so, the name of my post today is Treasure Island!

I showed you the 2 boxes of vintage camera's and the deer head already.....now here are the other boxes that we bought Saturday.

I found a herd of deer in a box for $5.....pretty sure I have a sleigh somewhere in my Christmas stuff for them to pull.

Lots of pretty dishes for my table scapes....some plaid place mats, and green and beige napkins.

I thought this box of Jim Beam bottles for $7 would look great on the buffet at a New Years party....love the Tom and Jerry punch bowl and cups.   .All that sequined lace and the FF deer was in a $5 box.....

Beautiful round vintage mirror....

baby shoe lamp from the 60's...

This is a historical book that was published in the 70's here in Curry County.   My mother used to have one, but an out of town relative wanted it, so she gave it to them.   She thought it would be easy to just buy another one...but she could never find one...they had all been sold.    I was so happy to get the bid on this, $5.   I think they were about $60 new....

Lots of my relatives are in the book.   On the left is my great great grandma Trapp.   My grandpa Shelton died at a young age, leaving her with 5 children.  She met twice widowed JT Trapp and they married.  He had 6 children...she had 5....and they had 4 children ...for a total of 15 children!

The picture on the right is my Granny and Papa Moore.  When I was little, we lived in the house next to theirs on the farm.  She loved to tell stories about me when I was little and lived by them.

I've showed you almost everything on the sales slip....still lack the trunk and antlers.    The last entry is the camera's that are in a previous post......http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2013/08/treasure-hunt.html

If there is a pressure cooker to be bought...H will buy it!  He loves vintage cookers!

This old TV was a surprise ....it was in the bottom of the box that I bought for all that gorgeous sequined lace.

The pic on the left is what was left and took to the trash and on the right is two boxes that will be donated to a local charity.

Have a wonderful week!

  4. Penny at one time my Dad had the 2nd largest collection of Jim Beam Bottles in the State of Florida! Mom and Dad had his office lined with glass shelves surrounding the walls, loaded with them, It was a sight to see! I sold some of them at the big garage sale of their things. The rest My brother has, I have about 6 of them. But the ones I kept are the Wild Turkey ones, they are bisque porcelain.I also have the set of Western heros, you know like Wyatt Earp, Bat Masterson, they are just sitting on a shelf in the garage, they are all bisque porcelain too.

  7. That Tom and Jerry set is quite the find. I think they normally go for a pretty good bit. Enjoy!

  8. I understand your delight in finding another copy of your county history. I misplaced my husbands published genealogical history that had been purchased at great cost. Years later when we retired and moved to Florida, I found it where it had been hidden behind books on an upper shelf. It's a treasure that can not be replaced. I adore blogs that show their thrift purchases!

  9. Great Treasures. We had a small TV like that when my kids were small and we had a big Van and hauling kids everywhere. Always liked the Tom and Jerry punch sets just haven't broke down and purchased. You always seem to find all the good things in those box buys.
