Another area of the studio is organized......whew........what a job this has turned out to be! |
This area of the studio will be where I can sit and relax....read......and have a cup of tea. |
I think the curtains added a warmth to the room. |
I gave the floral chair a shabby slip cover with some sheets that I bought at a yard sale a few weeks ago...$1 each... |
I filled a white wicker flower stand with some roses....it was bought at the auction for $3 |
When my aunt died, my uncle gave me two of my aunts favorite musical angels. Kyleigh and I have been enjoying listening to the music when we are out here playing. |
H and I are going to have a "working lunch" in the studio today. |
We will eat on the sewing table...... |
Something simple.....sandwich and chips. |
Later, we will have tea from my new chocolate pot......another auction buy! I couldn't find the ticket, but I remember that I paid $7.50 for it. |
You may have noticed in the before picture that the trim had never been painted around the French doors.....H got that taken care of..... |
and I dry brushed the two shelves that are hanging above the doors. |
I forgot to get a before photo, but you can see they were solid gold before I dry brushed some white paint on them. They will hang here until I decided to use them in the house. |

ReplyDeleteHOLY MOLY!! I love EVERY bit of your Studio !! Just how big is this Studio and what was it before ...a garage...or did H. build it as a Studio? I am amazed at all the "Stuff" you have in there!! Just in storage , not counting all the things you have out!!
I am going through an organizing burst and I am actually getting rid of some things...... I can't beleive it myself but it seems that my little townhouse is bursting at the seams and I just feel the need to purge a bit......
Hugs,
Deb
Hi Debbie, Our home was originally built by a contractor for his family. He used the studio as a garage for his contracting business. When we moved here, H took down the roll up door and put in three sets of French doors, we also added a refrigerated air/ heat unit. It's bigger than a double garage...about 500 sq feet. Hugs, Penny

Wow, your studio is stunning. My head would be on a swivel if I ever visited. Everywhere you is something wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThat I did something that you would admire, tickled me. I am so pleased you like the crocheted piece as a sewing machine cover. I stuck the hard one out in the shed. Your studio is fantastic! I want to do my living room window similar to your studio's french doors. No pots and pans but I can't wait to start. :):)
ReplyDeleteLove,
Mona
I can't believe how much you've accomplished in such a short time! You are so lucky to have such a large space. Love the "millinery" and dry brushed gold shelves. Have an wonderful week!

I am still reeling from the fact that you make your own slipcovers! Man, I sure could use that talent. Wish you lived near me in Oregon!! Lovely redo!
ReplyDeleteHow I would love to spend an afternoon with you in your studio, it looks so cozy and lovely. You are an amazing seamstress. I can't sew a lick, so when I see amazing work, I wish I could. Love your tea setup by the chaise!
ReplyDeleteEverything always looks amazing. I am always in awe. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me.
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteI saw your reply to my comment!! I thought that maybe it was a garage. I have no idea why certain emails are getting blocked. I thought that maybe since I changed over to a Gmail account email on all my google things that it would not happen. I have no idea what is going on with this now.......
Ugh!!
Hugs,
Deb
Hello Penny! I love the way you stacked the harp table on top of the two nightstands. I noticed that right away. And the slip cover really brightens the chair up for spring, too. Thanks so much for sharing this at History & Home this week, take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
