I have put fairy gardens in old wash tubs.....wheel barrows....garden beds.....but never a old guitar case! When I decided to put a fairy garden on the buffet in the sun room, I realized that I didn't have a container to put it in that was long and narrow. I had just bought this case at a yard sale for $1 and I thought.....why not!

I had been to HL yesterday and bought several fairy garden items at 80% off and was excited to do a vignette with them. The fairy in the first photo was $60.....now $12.
The castle, mushrooms, and the white wheel barrow in the above photo were also some of my great buys. |
I also did a little shopping around the house

Fairy Garden in a Guitar case...... |
|
Here is where I did my shopping at home.........................on the mantle and on the front porch
Hummmmm. .....now I have to do a new vignette on the mantle.....lol! |
|
I love the outdoor look it gave to the sun room..... |
|
Now I need to add some green touches to this side of the room..... |
|
I brought in a big fern from the greenhouse this morning to add a touch of green to this side of the room..... |
Penny, I think your fairy garden is cute and clever. I adore your sunroom. Blessings, xoxo,Susie
ReplyDeleteYour fairy garden is beautiful and so serene sitting there.
ReplyDeleteYour sun room is so romantic, it evokes times past where the women in the family would sit there in a sunny afternoon for tea while embroidering some linens, lol..
I sometimes would want to be living in simpler times.
Hugs,
FABBY
Penny I love your fairy garden! I'm totally addicted to them, and went to the HL here and there was nothing left, and that was last week. Your finds are great, I love the fairy. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI thought when you posted the birdcages that that mantle was screaming for something…however I never dreamed of such a gorgeous fairy setting. Great use of natural materials and depth. YOU are an artist! And I too, love the additions of the greens. One can never have too much green.
ReplyDeleteI love fairy gardens and this one is adorable!

ReplyDeleteOh lucky you to still find Fairies and garden stuff at your HL. Ours is way picked over - nothing left. Love the fairy garden in the guitar case. I've been thinking about what to put in mine...I like this idea a lot. Just might have to "borrow" it. :o)
ReplyDeleteHow cute is this??? PINNING!!! Best wishes, Linda @Crafts a la mode
ReplyDeleteI love this fairy garden! How creative to use a guitar case. I've been wanting to make a fairy garden for quite some time now. Thanks for the inspiration, pinned!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea Penny! Good idea to use faux greenery. I made one in an old leather suitcase and it was so darn cute, but I used real greenery. I had it out on the deck. By the end of summer the suitcase fell apart. Fun while it lasted. lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
