You get the idea.....put anything on your board that would make your mom smile..... |
Now for a tour of the finished family dining room. I had two hob nail lamps in storage and I put them on the divider. |
The dining table is set with milk glass and in the back ground you can see the lit display cabinet ....you have already had a tour of the display cabinet......here's the link to that post if you missed it.....http://penny-pennystreasures.blogspot.com/2016/04/styling-vintage-milk-glass.html You will notice two different floral centerpieces in my photo's ....couldn't decide which one I liked the best. Which is your favorite....the one on the table now or the one on the left side of the lit cabinet (it's on the table in the next photo) ???? |
I put small pieces of milk glass in the shelved mirror hanging on the wall...... |
The place settings are milk glass...... |
In the corner you can see my mother's snack sets on a pink three tired table. |
I put the extra cups on my French drying rack and put it at the top of the Library ladder..... |
The handles are so small that I had to tie them on the rack instead of hanging them on the arms..... |
I filled my hob nail vase with faux iris....... |
BUT, I did have one white iris in bloom out the yard! |
The milk glass is an amazing collection Penny. l love your Mother's Day creation and can see how tweaking the idea could make it unique to anyone's Mum. The white iris is divine.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the milk class collection. How beautiful! I have managed to find 7 of the white milk glass snack plates at a thrift store. LOVE THEM! But want more! Happy Wednesday. Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteYou have such an amazing collection! I have been looking for some of the milk glass snack sets for a long time, I have a beautiful vision (in my head) of a sweet tea party using them. I love to hunt for treasures....so my hunt will continue. Thanks for sharing!

Penny,
ReplyDeleteYour milk glass collection is so precious and beautiful and it is extra endearing to me because you have also combined your Mother's collection. This is so lovely for Mother's Day, any Mom would have a joyful heart to be present at your special and beautiful table.
We so enjoy having you with us today at TOHOT.

Penny,
ReplyDeleteYou know that I have always loved your Mother's collection of milk glass!! So pretty! My neighbor, Elly, collected milk glass and funny that you would post this because I found a taller hob nail milk glass lamp over there ( her sons said that since we care for the house, to take whatever I want) and I had the perfect shade for it so it now found a home in my Living Room!!
I also have a milk glass punch bowl set too!! Maybe, I should get it out....
Hugs,
Deb
Me again!! Forgot to mention how much I loved that charming crafted piece of yours!!

Your milk glass collection is just lovely ~ thank you for sharing it @Vintage Charm! Pinning to our Features and Favorites!
ReplyDeleteRight up my alley but I am not as creative in decorating with home styles as you. All my antiques are the original stains and I cannot bring myself to redo any of them. I might take some ideas from you if that is ok with you. You are one busy and creative lay. Beautiful post.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at the Pretty Project Party...I love that your Mom and her friends brought their collections to the Church for special events. What a nice thought, nowadays it would be paper plates and plastic cups. Easier, but not the same! So pretty, great idea to tie the cups when they didn't fit! Love that french drying rack...Amy
ReplyDeleteI love your wonderful milk glass collection.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing with SYC.
