Hen and Chicks Farmhouse Tablescape

I found this sweet ceramic bowl with a hen and  her baby chicks last summer.    I used it around the kitchen for a while and eventually put in on top of the refrigerator to safely store it until I wanted to use it again.

When I spotted her up there the other day,     I knew she would be just what I needed to create a new centerpiece for the table in the family room.

To begin my tablescape,     I laid a pink and cream buffalo check runner down the center of the table.

Then,  I placed my hen and her chicks on a white ruffled serving dish.......just to dress it up a bit.

I took  a glass vase that is covered with chicken wire  and filled it with field flowers and greenery.    An   "Everyday is a Fresh Start" metal sign completes my simple farmhouse tablescape.

I filled her "nest" with succulents,   some pink eggs,   and a fabric bow.

Mama and baby sharing a special moment.......

So sweet...........

Here is a peek of her "backside"

I love how her wings are spread around the nest her chicks are in.

There is a lot of detail on her wings as you can see from this close up.

Thank you for stopping by.........come back soon!

  8. My friend's mom used to call those succulents "hen and their baby chicks", Penny, so this post really made me smile. I guess it's because some of the succulents get quite big, and then the little ones grow off of them. Love the pretty container - this is such a beautiful arrangement. Thank you so much for sharing, and for being a aprt of the Hearth and Soul Link Party. Have a lovely week!
