Victorian Farmhouse Early Fall Mantel

I have all kinds of Farmhouse decor in my home........modern,  rustic, cottage,  shabby chic........so,  I figured why not add some Victorian Farmhouse into the mix!

I added a Victorian corner bracket on each end of the mantel.

Then I changed the backdrop panel that's hung over the fireplace.

Rustic backdrop.............................................................Softer Victorian backdrop

It's actually the same backdrop....lol!     I just turned it over to the backside where the fabric is more muted.

H attached an over the door wreath hanger to the top of the board that the panel is stapled to.

I had been looking for a place to put the wreath hanger since I bought it at a yard sale a couple of weeks ago   ($5)    and this seemed like the perfect place.

Summer Mantel....................................................Early Fall Mantel

I created a fallish floral design on a grape vine wreath to hang over the mantel.

I included a fall saying in my wreath.......Autumn,   the years last loveliest smile

Or.......And the sun stepped back,   the leaves lulled themselves to sleep & Autumn was awakened.    I couldn't decide which one I like the best,   so I printed both of them.
I have them on my Pinterest board in different buffalo check background colors  and a couple of other fall sayings if you would like to print some to use in your fall decorating.    Here is a link to my board........https://www.pinterest.com/penny2005/print-it/fall/

I used a combination of summer and fall flowers  since it's an early fall design.

I used greenery and fall leaves for my early fall look.......and I added cotton bolls for a different color and texture.

I hung a simple metal farm animal garland across the mantel.

I bought my garland in the Christmas isle at Hobby Lobby and just tied a strip of white fabric between each of the animals.

Quick and easy garland!

To finish my mantel decor,     I added architectural pieces

Cow print and a bouquet of flowers........

A tobacco basket.......

And a matching blue bouquet on the other side of the mantel completes my Victorian Farmhouse Early Fall Mantel.

I made a few other changes in the family room decor.

Rug layering before........................................................Rug layering after

You may have noticed a pile of fabric on the loveseat.........lol!

I have the new pillows I bought at Home Goods on the love seat.    I'm just checking out the color and how they look,   then I'll put them away for a few more weeks until I get ready to put out some pumpkins.

These pillows are so nice for the price.........full of feathers and sooooo soft.......$16.99

I'm playing with fabric.........are new slip cover in the makes.......maybe!

I changed the decor on the side of the fireplace.      Can't wait to replace those eggs with some pumpkins!

Before.....................................After

I also changed the decor on the other side of the fireplace.      I replaced a big pink rose bush with a small side table.   Sorry.......I didn't do a before and after on that change.

  Til next time......
