Some of you may remember Willow from my Halloween posts in the past. |
I've brought her out of retirement for my 2019 Halloween porch |
This year she will be the star of the Halloween porch! |
Willow is such a "ham".......she wanted to be photographed in other area's of the porch. |
It was a little breezy the afternoon of her photo shoot! The umbrella was blowing in the breeze and Willow couldn't keep her skirt down...lol! |
I used my wicker dress form to make Willow appear this year..... |
She is wearing her original dress that I made from a yard sale wedding gown that had seen better times. It had lots of stains on it and I paid $5 ..... |
H found a big pot to dye the wedding gown in. It took 2 bottles of Ritz dye.....and he had to put a rock on top of it to keep it from floating to the top of the pot. |
The gown was so long that it had to be hung on a tree limb to dry. I love the way the different fabrics on the gown absorbed the dye. Some parts of the gown are dark black and some are a light grey. |
In 2014, Willow did not make an appearance ......but her gown mysteriously showed up in the entry at Halloween |
You've not seen the last of Willow....... |
Who knows when or where she will show up again........ |
Penny, How very cute and clever. I like that...no mean witchy face. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

How fun... isn't cool how somethings take on a personality all by themselves.
ReplyDeleteI love the colors the dress took on after the dye, gave the dress a very dramatic look. The witch without a face, is perfect.!!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute witch. I found a bargain wedding dress at an estate sale and I think I just might have to dye it and make a witchy witch too. Always love seeing your creations.
ReplyDeleteLove Willow! How fun and creative!
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday!
Wow! That dress turned out gorgeous! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteGood morning Penny, How cleaver to have Willow the Witch. I love her with the buffalo black plaid umbrella and things. It is great to see how this dress has the spirit of whoever it originally was bought for and they were a very sweet person. I am not into the dark side, but things sometime hold the person's feelings. I love this great idea.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the good work.
Leona
I love this so much!! This is the best Halloween decoration I have seen in a very long time. You've got me wanted to hit all the yard sales and thrift stores until I find a wedding dress!
ReplyDeleteOh Penny, is there no end to your talent? I would never have thought to dye a wedding dress, but what a fabulous idea and doesn't it look amazing.

Penny,
ReplyDeleteI love Willow. What a special addition for Halloween. I am usually drooling over all of your decor. You have a special talent to make your home so special.
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs,
Bev
I love Willow; she has class. Your decor is so nice--and thanx to your husband, also, for his help. Her cousin, thrice removed here in Maine only wears a child's black sweatshirt and sweatpants from GW with a simple cape. Her limbs are rigid as they are made of scrap styrofoam. She, too has no face, just a hat as for several years (not lately) she has flown her broom into the telephone pole at the edge of our driveway! Spirit has not moved my 68 year old knees to stand on a wobbly stepladder lately to put her up!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful dress for Willow! Absolutely beautiful home you have!
ReplyDeleteThank you for linking up w us at Creative Muster! Blessings to you xoxoxo Sharon
Hi Penny, I love Willow. She is so beautiful. It's great how you pose her in different locations. I am happily featuring her today at "Love Your Creativity."
ReplyDeleteSuch a great idea to upcycle a wedding gown... you could even do this for a costume! Always love having you at Tuesday Turn About, Penny!
