Mr Penny is still recooping from his surgery, so I left him napping for a couple of hours and went to the auction yesterday. I got these retro pink canisters... |
And these two sweet canisters... |
They are in pretty good shape all things considered! |
I thought this cosmetic case was the cutest thing, but no one else did. He started the bidding at $1, I flashed my card and then there was silence.....cricket...cricket no one else bid on it! |
The case is in excellent condition. |
Charles of the Ritz!!!! |
$1...would any of you bid on it, or am I just crazy!! |
I thought these cloth covered hat heads were pretty cool! They had lots of hats at the auction, but I didn't see any I REALLY liked! |
One other lady bid on them, but finally let me have them for 12.50. |
Now for my treasure!!! Mr. P collects old phonographs and he was home sick, so I thought "I'm going to get this for him if it doesn't go too high". $14.00!!!!!!! |
It has a little compartment on the lid to hold old records. |
The crank stores in that hole in the back...I didn't know if it worked or not when I bought it, but it works great!!! |
See the little needle case on the left, it is full of needles! I have paid 15.00 for that many needles before! I just realized that I didn't take a picture of the back, it is a Victrola, has the little dog and everything. I hope you enjoyed seeing my treasures! I am joining the party at ALDERBERRY HILL http://www.alderberryhill.com/make-the-scene-monday-41/#wrap |
What wonderful finds! Love the old victrola and the hat heads! Those canisters are just plain wonderful and so is the cosmetic case. I can tell you had a great time!

ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, Penny!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your visit and kind comments!! I was beside myself trying to get the Dining Room decorated for Halloween. It seems that I could not remember almost doubling what I had for Halloween from last year. It was those clearance sales at the end of the season last year. They get me every time!
Now your treasures.... I am sure that Mr. Penny will be quite please with his "Feel Better" gift???
I love those canisters. Pink and black is close to my heart as that is the colors of my Powder Room...
And those cloth hat heads are amazing!! I have styrofoam ones that I decoupaged.....
Congrats on all your wonderful buys!!
I hope you are having a lovely weekend and that Mr. Penny will be up to par very soon!
Hugs,
Deb
