Penelope goes to the Ball

Penelope (she's named after me...lol) is wearing her newest spring frock and she''s going to the ball at The Polka Dot Closet.    I got her new suit at the auction this past Saturday.   I'm not sure about the history of it ,but the seller told me that it was from the late 1800's and that it was a guard uniform for the Odd Fellows or  Rebekahs.  I would love to hear from anyone that knows something about the history of this beautiful garment!

It has lots of bling on it...

this is the trim around the bottom...

and it is black velvet...

It came on a very nice hanger that is stamped Regent...
The hat is so cute...

inside the hat it says    Guard...MC Lilley Co ...Ohio

the dress is marked the same as the hat.

I think Penelope looks "marvelous" in her new dress....how much did pay for it???

$7.00....I still have more treasures that I bought at the auction...be back soon!

Be sure to visit the Polka Dot Closet to see all the gorgeous dressforms....
