Memorial Day Yard Decor

We have been making these garden ladies for the back yard,  and I thought one might be fun to use one in the Memorial Day decor in the front yard.     Where is the year going.....is Memorial Day this week end?
My Memorial Day flag lady has a denim dress,  checked shirt, blue & gold sleeveless jacket, big red hat......
and a flag rag apron!

I wanted to show you how she is made.     H buried a 5' post in a small cream can..   The can weighs a ton but it will stand up in a pretty strong wind.   My lady is mobile, so she can be moved to different area's of the yard,  but she is pretty heavy so H used a two wheeler to move her.

In photo one.....you can see (barely) a piece of chicken wire around the bottom of the milk can.   It will hold her skirt out

In photo two,   I have a close up of her chicken wire head.   It is made from a 24" square piece of chicken wire that has been stapled  to the post body and crushed to look kinda like a head..

Photo three,  shows her shoulders.  They are 18" across.

After I took my pics,   H "wheeled" her back into the garage until closer to Memorial Day.   I also took down the flags and will put them and a few more things out in a couple of days.
