Sweet & Shabby Pink Christmas

In just a few days most of us will be putting away our Hallween decorations and I for one don't want to replace them with any more fall decor.    I don't decorate very much for Thanksgiving....just the dining room table and I add a touch or two to some of my existing fall decor.     So.......long story short.....I have started decorating for Christmas

I completely cleaned out the display cabinet in the formal dining room to decorate it for Christmas.   Sometimes I just add holiday or seasonal decor to my cabinet,   but this time I cleaned it out and will come back with all new decor after Christmas.

My theme in the formal dining room for 2021 is......Sweet Shabby Pink Christmas.   I will be decorating it with lots of Sweets.....some shabbiness.......and plenty of pink!

I have 5 grands that are between 1 and 5 years old,   so I think they will love my theme this year.    I have a couple of little chairs next to the cabinet and I plan to take their Christmas 2021 photo's here.

Let's take a tour of my Christmas cabinet starting at the top

I have it decorated with ceramic cakes and a cookie sign.....some of you may have noticed that I am keeping my vignettes a little simplier now.     I used to put lots and lots of stuff in my vignettes and I have found over the years that I can enjoy them more if there is some space between stuff so I can see it better.    I've finally learned that I don't have to use every single decoration I have EVERY YEAR!

The second shelf is my Gingerbread Bakery.

I am frequently asked where I get all my unique decor    I have been collecting gingerbread decor for many years,   so most of the what you are going to see me use this year can't be purchased anymore.    But,   I have noticed that Hobby Lobby has lots of Gingerbread decor,   so if you want to start your collection now check there.

I am using lots of elves this year in my vignettes......kind of a nod to "Elf on the Shelf"   except I'm not going to move them around thru the holidays...lol!

On the next shelf I have cupcakes....lit tree's.....ice cream cones in a cupcake bowl.....a Candy Cane sign....and one of the three coordinating Nutcrackers that I got years ago.

I tried to decorate each shelf with pieces that would tie in with each other.....

Sweets......Shabby Chic.....and Pink

On the left side of the cabinet I have created another vignette that ties in with the ones in the cabinet.   I used a pedestal,  metal Christmas sign, wreath,  chair,   and a bowl full of Christmas goodies!

Cookies,  gum drops, suckers, tree's and another sweet elf

I used some of the same elements from the cabinet in the vignette on the right side.     I don't intend to put very many ornaments on this tree as I am really liking the simplier trees this year   Sometimes there are so many ornaments on the tree that you can't even see it....or the ornaments for that matter.    Later I will let each grand pick out 2-3 ornaments to hang on their tree.

I have a few presents under the tree....just paper ones that I printed at home.....and more elves.

The elf prints,    the paper prints on the wreath,   the signs,
and the present prints all came from the gorgeous Sweet and Shabby Christmas kit that Kerryanne created for us this month.  The prints you've seen me use in my post are only a teeny tiny peek at what all is included in her kit.     Here's a link to her blog where you can find out how to get one to use in your Christmas decorating this year.   https://www.shabbyartboutique.com/2021/10/the-handmade-club-october-kit.html

Now that I finished decorating the cabinet,    I am moving over to the fireplace mantel.

Can't wait to share it with you guys.....hugs
