She Said YES.....Part 1....the Engagement Party

H & I have been in San Antonio Texas for the last few days celebrating the engagement of our Grandson to the most wonderful girl in the world.    I don't often post pictures of my family or friends but I thought you guys might enjoy seeing the party decorations and all the yummy food     The party was attended by our immediate family and close friends ...about 60 people.

Our Grandsons aunt and uncle hosted the engagement party in their gorgeous San Antonio home.    Our DIL and her sister in law did all labor and designing of the balloon decor you will see throughout their home

Our Grandson Justin and his beautiful Fiancee Sarah were the first ones to try out the Photo Booth. No telling how many pictures were taken there over the course of the evening.....100's.    We didn't hire a photographer because our hostess is a great photographer and I've took a few pictures myself....lol!

Everyone had so much fun using the props and acting silly for the pictures.   They made me swear not to show any of those photo's though.....so I can't,  but I sure would like to!

Well,  maybe just one little funny photo won't hurt!

You may have noticed in the above pic that Sarah is wearing a sash.   They put it on her first thing....it says "The Future Mrs Justin Phillips"

There was food set up all over the house and out in the yard too.

The Charcuterie board was on the huge island in the kitchen.....

Our hostess created the layout for the board....and of course we had to refresh it over the course of the evening

Our Grand daughter made the flowers for the Charcuterie board...

Here's a dip and chip table that I photographed before it was finished ......I took the photo mainly to show you more of the balloon work that the girls did.

We had tables set up in the house.....

And there were several tables out in the back yard.....some to sit at and some to stand around and enjoy cocktails.

Most of the food was prepared by the girls,  but we did hire a caterer for the Street Taco Bar.

He has catered several of their parties and always does such a good job.   I wanted ya'll to see how he cooks the meat around the outside of the big pan....then   there's a smaller skillet turned upside down in the middle ....and that's where he heats the little tortilla's

I took a quick pic of someone's plate to show you how the Street taco's look....then you fold them in half before you start to eat them.

The bar was set up on the front porch of the Casita.....which is what the guest house is called in San Antonio.

The Bartender was great and was so busy all evening

After everyone had eaten we gathered in the dining room for Champagne....

Cookies.....the girls made the cookies and decorated them too.   Didn't they do a great job!

A local bakery made the cupcakes,  macaroons,   and the cake.

Then,   we toasted Justin and Sarah....they cut the cake and...  everyone continued to party til the wee hours of the morning.

They plan to marry in about a year....after they both get their Master's Degree's.

Thank you so much for stopping by....hugs
