I found tea cups and pots in my stash that have a very similar pattern. |
I thought it would be fun to cover two of the plates with silver lids. (to keep the food warm..,,,lol) |
I gathered up lots of vintage silverware to make the place settings interesting... |
I decorated the buffet in a rose theme to match the new dishes... |
Here are some of the bone plates that were in the box... |
The scales are balancing tea cups and saucers... |
My mother left me lots of beautiful rose serving bowls... |
Remember the box of tea cups and saucer that I showed you in an earlier post that came from the same auction? I displayed some of them on a french drying rack... |
On the left is the spring tablescape ....and on the right is the new one. |
I bought fresh roses for the tablescape... |
There must be a spoon here for any and everything you might want to eat.... |
An assortment of forks.... |

ReplyDeleteXOX
These rose designed dishes are lovely. The price awesome! Good find....
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteThe pattern on the dishes is called moss Rose and I have my Dining Room hutch full of it. The ones that I have collected have the "Made in Japan" on the bottom. This pattern was quite popular in the 40's and 50's and was produced by many countries and many companies. The ones I have tend more toward burgundy rather than pink. $10 for the box was , indeed, a steal!!
Your tablescape is beautiful. Love all your silverware and all the other tea pots and other pieces!!
I am convinced that you have far more collections that I would ever have room for!!
LOL!
Congrats on such a fantastic purchase!!
Hugs,
Deb
