They mark your box with your bidding number...I was number 71. |
Now, to get them out of the box! |
I was so happy to find so many cups with a rose pattern on them...my favorite! |
Here are several with the same pattern...all made in Japan. I left them "as is" where you could see just how dusty they were! |
This was just an odd cup, but I loved the stamp on the bottom. Sometimes I display stuff upside down because the markings on the bottom are so pretty. |
I was able to match up a few... |
and there was more than one of some... |
When you buy at the auction, everything has to be cleaned as soon as you get it home. |
There was eight of these saucers. |
Almost everything in the box was made in Japan. |

ReplyDeleteWow! You hit the teacup and saucer jackpot!
ReplyDeleteHello Penny....Looking forward to seeing the dishes! I think you found some nice cups in that box. You could give some with herb teas as gifts. Where do you plan to display them? Susan
ReplyDeleteThis is terrific - please share at Tea In The Garden. These are perfect when you have ladies over. I only use my teapots and cups and saucers from China when I do teas because if one gets broken there are no hard "feelings" like if it is a favorite ENGLISH one!
ReplyDeletePenny, it's like finding a box of treasure. What fun to unpack this box to see what you have.
ReplyDeleteA great deal for so many teacups that appear to be in excellent shape.
ReplyDeleteOlá, que tesouro.
ReplyDeleteÉ deslumbrante, um verdadeiro presente. Desfrute de cada uma com um belo chá.
Felicidades.
Lauriane
Wow, that box is a treasure chest! I also love the rose cups but my favorite is the pale pink one with with the rose blossoms on it. So cute!

To clarify ~ when I have a box of goodies and I'm playing with them...my whole house suddenly becomes a mess ~ yours always looks like a magazine!
DeleteNow that's a lot of cups and saucers! I love the one with the pansies. Check to see if any are Beleek from Ireland. Lucky find if you find one!

ReplyDeleteHello Penny, what a fantastic find you have here! I think you got yourself a bargain. And how fun to sort through and clean for the first time. The rose tea cups are very pretty! They will make a great table scape. I saw in the box, one English tea cup made by Colclough. I have that one too.

Penny,
ReplyDeleteO My!! All are so pretty!! What a buy!! Makes me wonder if they came from a Tea Room or just and avid tea cup collector...
We are relaxing this vacation but i may be taking on my Powder Room too. I ordered wall paper border on Ebay that should be coming today so we may be ripping the Powder Room apart tomorrow. We are having a nice week with temps. in the 70's which is perfect for me!!
Good for you on this great buy!!
