I bought this chair last summer at a yard sale for $2. It's been sitting in the tea room begging me to do something with it every time I go out there....lol!
|
Well, I finally gave in and brought it to the work room (garage)
|
She looks much better now! |
|
H striped the fabric off and cleaned her up.... |
|
I love the stuffing they used......way back in the day! |
|
I chose some trim that I've had for a long time and was missing over half of the pom poms, so I cut the rest of them off. I really liked the lacy look it gave to the chair. |
|
I like to use the "back" side of my fabric....it has a much softer look. See how much softer the leaves look on the back (left) side compared to the "bright" front side. |
Love it! i love th green color and the fabric!! I see you have the same Home Interiors figurines that I do!!

Hi Penny
ReplyDeleteYour chair is beautiful!! what a fabulous makeover. I love the other side of the fabric, I agree its softer looking. Very Very pretty!!!
You did a fantastic redo, the rose floral fabric is perfect. Those chairs were so comfortable to sit in! Thank you for stopping by to share on FF Linky party this week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful rescue story. Going to remember to consider flipping the fabric. HPS!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny. You did it again! The chair is adorable. Do you mind if I ask you for some information? I am wondering what color and brand of paint you used on your chair. And by the way, I found an even better place for Wallpaper where you can actually flip through the pages of wallpaper books. It's American Blinds. Better selection than Home Depot by a long shot. The material on the chair is wonderful too..so sweet!
ReplyDeletep.S. Don't people drive by your home and stop and look? And don't your neighbors drift over for a closer look? I know I would...DAILY! :)
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job on the chair. She looks spring ready.
ReplyDeleteYour chair looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous chair.

Beautiful! I love the color and that you used the back of the fabric. Great idea!
ReplyDeleteLove the chair! Exactly what I was looking for to go by the organ. I found an etched hobo chair, it needs serious restructuring of the springs and new upholstery, but the wood is in nice condition so I don't want to change it. I found a roll of vintage batting for 1.00, and a pair of curtains I will probably cut up for the fabric and leave the wood as is. P.S. was NOT 2.00 :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous makeover for that old chair. I love what you have done.
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous and a lovely idea to use the back of the fabric.
ReplyDeleteoh this lady was in the dire need of a face lift and wow so beautiful now! what a great idea to use the back of the fabric for a more soft look! I would have ruined the fabric by washing it a zillion times! You have save me time, money and water! Thanks for sharing with us at Snickerdoodle Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWow, the chair came out beautiful!!! What a great deal :)
