How to Build a Farm on your Christmas Tree

The weather has been gorgeous here in Eastern New Mexico the last few days so I've been working on my Thanksgiving decor.     Today is cold, rainy,  and windy,     so THAT put me in the mood to play with some Christmas decor

I am creating Thanksgiving and Christmas in our home at the same time....lol!   The kitchen and formal dining room have Thanksgiving decor in them and I am slowly decorating the family dining/ living area for Christmas.      A little Christmas mixed in with the Thanksgiving decor doesn't hurt anything....does it!

I decided to build a farm on my big white tree.     This is a really sturdy tree that will hold up to the weight of some large "ornaments"      I bent the heavy wire branches into tiers to put my farm scenes on.

I wanted to share the construction part of this tree with you guys before it is covered up with Christmas decorations.   I have positioned the big pieces of my farm on the tree already

I will add the smaller ornaments to the tree before I "reveal" it later.

I took plenty of pic's of the tree so you can get the feel of how to build a Farm on your Christmas tree so you can use them for inspiration in case you want to try to build one for your holiday decorating.

After Thanksgiving dinner is over,   our family loves to sit in the family room and enjoy all the Christmas lights.     We  like to talk about our many many blessings .....and.....we also begin to think about the upcoming holiday.....CHRISTMAS!

  6. Good morning Penny, What at wonderful way to really celebrate Christmas with the family.
I had our old heavy falling apart tree at work thrown in the dumpster. Now you have given me a great idea for my work place Christmas tree. I am going to find a tree this weekend and start decorating. I'll have everyone select a favorite or decoration to put on the tree. I'll let you know how they like it.
You have the most creative, inspiring ideas. I hope you leave your tree up for a long time.
Thank you for sharing your joy as it gives me joy also.

Thanks so much for sharing your talent with us at the Creative Muster. Looking forward to seeing what you’ll be sharing next week. Pinning!
