Our little town has a smorgasbord of all different kinds of homes. This is a beautiful old rock and brick home in one of the older areas of town. |
One of our friends lives in this beautiful home... |
crepe myrtles are in full bloom..... |
Of course, we have lots of homes built in the Southwest style... |
Flat roofs.... |
and stucco walls. |
These beautiful zinnia's caught my eye. |
Sunflowers always make me smile... |
all different kinds are grown in our area... |
They even grow wild in the farm road ditches... |
I thought this long row of sunflowers was pretty. I'll have to go out in the country and take some pictures of our sunflower fields to show you. There are big fields of them grown for sunflower oil. |
Clovis has a population of about 45,000, but it still has a small town feel... |

You have a very nice home Penny, and it's seems you live in a very beautiful area! It must be hot???
ReplyDeleteIs "Clovis" the name of your town? Do you know he was a french king???
Hugs and kisses
I've followed you for sometime now and can't believe you are from Clovis! I grew up there, what a small world!
ReplyDeletePenny,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful homes and landscapes!! Again, it is raining..... But we need it after that last heat wave which really dried things out. I guess it is very flat where you live? No mountains? We have Mountains all around us....
Hugs,
Deb
Thanks Penny for the beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the beautiful tour. I love very much the american houses.

Hello Penny... and thanks for the tour... it's been many years since I have been to Clovis... I believe I told you before my daddy grew up on my great~grandparents ranch just outside of Santa Fe... I spent every Summer in the Land of Enchantment and we traveled the whole State... I own some acres in Deming... the homes you showed are beautiful, and so are the Sunflowers... love the Russian Sage... xoxo Julie Marie
ReplyDeleteJust loved seeing these homes and the flowers in your charming town. Thanks for this post!
ReplyDeleteWe love New Mexico. My husband is an artist and he took art workshops in both Taos and Santa Fe. He would love to have a little spot in Santa Fe and we have thought about buying something simple there to skip back and forth between there and California.
ReplyDeleteLovely homes, the first shot is one of my favorite. I love the flowers. Thanks for the tour, have a happy week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWow, some lovely homes. But the sunflowers are gorgeous, such happy flowers.
ReplyDeletewell that was a fun tour of your home town, loved all the sunflowers and interesting architecture, thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou live in a beautiful area! I lived in NM for a few years, North of Gallop and Grants. I loved it and enjoy traveling back! The Russian sage always makes me think of lavender! It's beautiful! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI have seen a lot of rock and brick homes but this is the most unusual one. My mom lives in Arkansas and they have lots of these rock houses. I think they are adorable. Yours is a very pretty area!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour of your town, a wide variety of home styles and I do like the hardscaping to make the yards look tidy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty town you live in - so different from the look of our Island towns. I've never visited New Mexico, so I enjoyed this little glimpse.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photography! NM is a colourful place.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Hope to see you on my blog:)
thank's for your information !
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely place you live in; so much character. I live in Australia so do a lot of armchair-travel with books and google-earth! Thanks for sharing the lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great tour of Clovis...loved that wrought iron gate and those sun flowers, wow they were gorgeous...
ReplyDeleteHi Penny! I am visiting from Inspire Me Monday.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE New Mexico. My husband and I took a trip to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta some years back, and we visited Taos too. The architecture is so beautiful. I especially love your photo of the house with the crazy-quilt chimney. So cool!
Pleasure to meet you today!
Ceil
We've always loved going to New Mexico...such a great state to vacation in....and love Albuquerque/Santa Fe area.
ReplyDeleteYoung couples used to go to Clovis, from Texas, to get married...lol
What a beautiful place you live in. Your photos show it off well. Love the flower photos-especially the sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteI love this, what a beautiful place. I want to visit. :) So glad you shared this.

Stopping by from You're Gonna Love it Tuesday. Was reading your bio and we have the same decorating style I would say. I just bought a home that I am going to turn in to a cottage (more so than it is now) and tend to have the same style you mentioned (romantic and cottage with a little bit country..french and English country mostly). I have been thinking about growing some sunflowers, as I just bought a few sunflower things for our patio dining set. You have me convinced now! Those sunflowers in the photos look so pretty. I also love the look of your home!! ~Rebekah @ weliveinspired.com
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed having a virtual stroll around you neighbourhood. It was lovely to see some different plants that don't live in our wet climate here in the UK. And seeing the different styles of houses was wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
