I thought a "rag strip" canopy might be fun, so I cut lots of strips from yard sale sheets. |
H had covered the original steel canopy frame with chicken wire several years ago. |
I cut strips about 3" wide and 40" long....then I just tied bows around my chicken wire frame. I also used a roll of green tulle that I cut in the same size strips. |
The swing sits by the new tea room, so Kyleigh and I can have tea outside too. |
H has gone over to our daughters home to help her do some yard work, so I am going to have lunch in the shade of my new canopy cover and relax with a book. |
Just tea and salad for lunch today...... |
I cut a bouquet of snow balls to make a centerpiece for my lunch..... |
On the left you can see the canopy I made last year from a full size bedskirt. I used the matching comforter on the swing. I think I paid about $10 for the set at a yard sale. |
Penny,
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what you do with this swing each year!! So pretty!!
I know i have said it in the past but I guess you do not get much rain there....... We have had rain/snow showers all week and it is still predicted to be this way until next week!! Low's in the 30's!!!!!

Deb

Once again I am amazed!
ReplyDeleteWell, that is fun! It will be lovely blowing in the wind! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love the way it turned out and very creative!
ReplyDeleteI just love it!!! its so pretty and soft looking. I am sure you enjoyed your lunch there. !!!
ReplyDeleteLovely!!
ReplyDeleteI agree! That is really creative. I thought it was just around the perimeter of the swing canopy..but I thing you must have tied those pretty stripes all over the top. It's lovely. I see that it provides shade..you didn't take a picture underneath the awning so I am just guessing that is how you did it. Those are two of my favorite colors together.
ReplyDeleteChange is always good now and then. I liked both of the ways you made it.
ReplyDeleteI like changing things out, too. Have I asked before....does your husband like PINK...??? :)
ReplyDeleteYou are aways changing and with good ideas.

ReplyDeleteYou are so creative and I just love the softness you bring with the quilts, wonderful space!
ReplyDeleteBoth the bed skirt and the rag strip ideas are brilliant. You have inspired some romantic porch settings on my back porch - unfortunately I have to bundle everything up at night and bring it in - too much dew too much rain. Enjoy! Happy Pink Saturday!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Penny. I imagine they do a little dance when there is a light breeze, so clever!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
I love this look! The colors are delightful, so summery, light and airy. I agree, a great place for a quiet breakfast and a good read!
